CTO Transition

Kinesis would like to announce an important change in leadership within its core IT and Development team.

We’ve taken immediate measures on the IT side and have dramatically increased development velocity through the appointment of numerous developers under the leadership of our newly appointed Interim CTO Jim Lawie.

Nigel Owens has now departed the Kinesis Leadership team and we wish him well in his future endeavours. Jim Lawie has been with Kinesis for the last 9 months and has a solid understanding of the Kinesis infrastructure and platforms, and with already being part of the IT team, was a natural choice to be offered the opportunity to take the lead in this department.

Having originally started his career as a developer, Jim now has over 20 years experience in Programme & IT Management with various global technology teams including those at HSBC, UBS & RBS.

During that time he has led geographically diverse teams delivering a variety of IT solutions across front, middle and back office for different financial services and sectors.

Jim recently held the position of Head of Delivery at the London Metal Exchange (LME) driving IT change and transformation across the exchange while ensuring reliable and performant systems and platforms.

One of the first tasks which Jim has undertaken is to progress a 3rd party offshore relationship which will provide Kinesis with a large number of quality IT development, delivery and support personnel.

Once the initial wave of these new team members are appropriately trained and integrated, Kinesis will be able to plan for faster-to-market product delivery and to future proof our platforms with specific reference to stability and performance.

In addition, Jim will be looking to enhance the existing core IT teams in Brisbane, London and Bulgaria.
